Have you ever been scrolling through your Fire TV Stick’s app menu and noticed that one or two of your apps were missing?
Many people have reported this issue on different forums and websites. In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to fix missing app icons on your Fire TV Stick.
Sync Amazon Content
If you’re missing an app that you know is installed on your Fire TV Stick, simply sync your Amazon content. To do this from the home screen, go to Settings.
Choose Account & Profile Settings.
Select Sync Amazon Content.
Once the sync is complete, check your app menu to see if the app icon has reappeared.
Manually Launch Apps
If syncing your Amazon content doesn’t fix the issue, you can still manually launch apps despite their missing icons. To do this, navigate to the Settings menu from the home screen.
Select Manage Installed Applications.
Find the app you’re missing an icon for in the list. Select Launch Application.
If the app starts up normally, that means the icon was only hidden and not deleted. To unhide the icon, simply go back to the home screen and select the Apps and Channels icon.
Scroll to the app you wish to create a shortcut for, but don’t select the app.
Press the Menu button on your Fire TV Stick. A list of options will appear on the right hand side.
To make the app most accessible, select Move to front and the icon will now appear on your home screen.
If you’re ever missing an app icon on your Fire TV Stick, there’s no need to worry. There are a few different ways to fix this issue, including syncing your Amazon content, manually launching apps, and unhiding apps. With these methods, you’ll be sure to find your app icons in no time.
